I've successfully spent some at two restaurants in Nashua, NH and one in MA. None of them advertised that they take them and I believe they only just learned of them through me but decided to take them.
If I did my math right, he gave you a discount taking 27 GB, even. Bonus!
That was great. I live near Keane and will be dropping in with some NH Goldbacks for sure.

What does he do with them?
This is a good question. Can retailers deposit them anywhere? Or, must they stack and reuse as change in their establishment. I suppose they can also use them as cash at other places that take goldbacks. But, I'm really curious if the retailer can deposit them anywhere.

I was in New Mexico on business (7/10-14/23). Currently not a Goldback issued state and I sold and traded all 27 of the One-Goldbacks I had. Wherever you are and someone is willing to trade you for your Goldback you are good to go.

I've used Goldbacks in commerce in 9 states now (Maryland, Virginia, Indiana, New Mexico, Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, & Utah). I will be reaching out to businesses I know of that accept Goldbacks in Oregon and Missouri in the near future too. Love road trips. Go on more.

Incorrect and clearly you've no experience with these. Depends what you buy them for. Many places sell them online for less than the Avg Selling Price which is what's listed on the Goldback site. I bought some for $0.40 less. So, on a $5 transaction, I'm saving 8% by using Goldbacks.
